Since its establishment in 1974, the college has played a vital role in promoting higher education for women in the region and preparing students to meet the challenges of the modern world.

History of the Institution

Government Graduate College for Women Vehari was established in September 1974 with the objective of promoting women’s higher education in the region. Initially, the college started functioning in a rented building of the Auqaf Department (Mandar Building). In February 1983, the institution was shifted to the old building of the District Headquarters Hospital, Vehari.

The college continued to expand its academic activities over time. Postgraduate classes were introduced in 1999, while computer classes commenced on 15 September 2000 to meet the growing educational and technological needs of students. On 13 March 2001, the college was shifted to its present building located at Sharqi Colony, Vehari.

In 2017, BS programs were introduced, marking another important milestone in the academic development of the institution. Since its establishment, the college has remained committed to providing quality education and empowering women through higher learning opportunities.

The institution is committed to developing ethical values, discipline, confidence, and a strong sense of social responsibility among students.
